New year's resolution

I have three new year's resolution for this year. First one is to memorize all the words in "word smart". I began to study SAT from last year. I have studied TOEFL before but SAT was so different from TOEFL. I had to memorize much harder words than words that are required to memorize for TOEFL. I took the real SAT before I went to Korea for summer vacation, and the result was not that good. I found out that my scores would be increased as I know more words. It would be much easier for me to read things and understand if I know all the words in the text. Also, I will be able to read decent essays with harder words. I am not good at writing essay, so I would study lots of hard words to improve the quality of my essay. I am planning to go to the university in Korea, so TOEFL is more important for me than SAT. However, It would be so much helpful if I also get a good score on SAT. Therefore, I will memorize every words in “word smart”

My second new year’s solution is to get advanced level of SCUBA license. I got SCUBA license with SH and Amelia during last spring break. At the first time, I did not want to learn SCUBA because I was scared to dive in deep sea. However, I changed my mind right after we went to SCUBA to lao lao beach. I had so much fun. It was experience I have never had and imagined. I felt like I was flying but in the water. Now me, SH, and Amelia all have beginner’s license of SCUBA and we heard that we can get advanced license by learning couple of additional things and it is not difficult. Also, it is important for us to finish advanced course because SCUBA advanced level license can be additional point for some colleges, so it would be helpful for us to send applications to colleges. That is the major reason that our moms made us to learn SCUBA. We are planning to start it during Christmas break and I am so excited about it.

My last new year’s solution is to start studying Japanese seriously. I have been able to understand Japanese a little bit since I was in middle school because of my favorite Japanese group. I got interests in Japan because of them, so I started to watch many Japanese drams or TV shows. From that, I could learn little of Japanese, but now I want to start to learn Japanese properly. I want to take Japanese ability examination (JLPT) before I graduate high school. I think Japanese would be much easier for me than Chinese because I am Korean. Korean and Japanese are very similar in what order they put words into a sentence. Also, I decided to take Japanese for foreign language class at my school. We use rosetta stone for our foreign language class from this year, and it is a good program to learn language especially on part of speaking and listening. I will improve speaking and listening skills with rosetta stone and I will get other books for reading and writing skills. Like the SAT words, I will memorize lots of Japanese words, especially kanji. I think kanji will be the biggest obstacle for me to study Japanese, but I will try my best. I will be so happy if I can understand everything when I watch Japanese movie or drama without subtitle. Also, I want to visit Japan someday.
